With the year winding down and auto dealers strongly pushing incentives to finish the year strong this is a great time to shop for a new vehicle. You might even be able to get a tax deduction depending on your profession. This was a solid year for car sales and it looks like overall it will be the seventh straight year of rising sales thanks in part to extremely low finance rates. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the three top selling vehicles are trucks. The rest of the top ten is made up mostly of Toyota and Honda vehicles with the Nissan Rogue sneaking in at number 10.

Here are the top 10 selling vehicles of 2016:

Ford F-Series – With 733,287 vehicles sold this year Ford tops the list again. The F-Series pickup is consistently at the top of the list. With multiple configurations, engines, and body styles to choose from it is no wonder this is the top selling vehicle in the country.

Chevrolet Silverado – Over  520,500 Silverados were sold this year. Chevy’s full size line of pickup trucks is hot on the heels of Ford with adequate amenities and many different trims and configurations.

Ram Pickup There’s a reason Fiat Chrysler is focuses on off road vehicles and trucks for 2017. 441, 862 Ram trucks were sold this year and with so many different choices it isn’t hard to see why.

Toyota Camry – Camry is the best-selling passenger car with 355,204 sold in 2016. Proven reliability, great resale value, a spacious interior, great fuel economy, and a recently restyled exterior, are all hallmarks of this terrific passenger vehicle.

Toyota Corolla - Just behind the Camry over 346,999 Corolla’s were sold this past year. The Corolla has better fuel economy and a lower base price than the Camry. It is the obvious choice for those looking for something a bit more compact than the Camry.

Nissan Rogue – More 289,420 Rogues were sold in 2016. The Rogue competes directly with the RAV4 with a more car-like driving experience than other crossovers. The Rogue is very well priced compared to other vehicles in its class.
